My wife Cathy and I moved to Cambridge, MN in 2022 from Thief River Falls, MN. She retired from Customer Service at DigiKey Electronics. I retired from Zion Lutheran Church as Senior Pastor.
For about half the year we live at East Terrace Cooperative in Cambridge. From mid May or so to early October we live at our lake cabin near Walker.
I am licensed as a (no code) General since 2010. My current swl rig is an rfspace sdr with a par end-fedz half wave.
For VHF and UHF I have a Diamond discone and an MSquared X2 (in the house). Up North I have had great (unexpected) success using the house gutter as a sw antenna.
Base at home is a Kenwood D-700. 2 meter HT is a Kenwood TH-f6a tri-bander, which I bought from Radio City in Mounds View, MN in 2010. I also have a TYT MD-UV380 HT and pi-star hot spot (for DMR) which my friends Jim (wb0wti) and Ron (ae5e) helped me set up (Brandmeister).
I revel in the fact that I have a great deal to learn about all aspects of amateur radio.
